Community Engagement Framework

If you are interested in embarking on the journey of community engagement, FIC created a toolkit to help organizations get started. This folder contains tools, templates, and guides for all of the strategies mentioned in the spectrum of community engagement. FIC uses Facilitating Power's Spectrum of Community Engagement to Ownership tool when we refer to community engagement. This tool embodies our values and breaks down the process of Community Engagement in a way that is easy to understand.

PSE Toolkit

The FIC team created a Policy Systems and Environmental (PSE) Change Continuum. This is a framework that can be used:
- As a guide for collaborating partners/coalition members and our own team to plan and coordinate collaborative and equitable PSE change work.
- As a tool for tracking activities, creating a comprehensive and nuanced “big picture,” that can be used to document and understand the impact of collaborative and equitable advocacy and PSE change work.

Anti-Racist Evaluation

The FIC team is working on an anti-racist evaluation framework to help evaluate our work. Contact us for more details.

Equity in Policy

The Racial Equity Score Card is a useful tool to asses how successfull a policy or program is as it relates to racial equity.

Food in Communities works closely with the local food policy council to inform them on what is currently happening in the communities we work in. We also work to address local and administrative policy within our public health departments. This section will showcase the policies that we have helped inform, revise, change or create.
